Israel’s Public Education Taskforce

Israel’s Public Education Taskforce

Israel’s Public Education Taskforce was founded by the Berl Katznelson Center, Givat Haviva – The Center for a Shared Society, and the IDEA Center for Liberal Democracy. It aims to make sure public education in Israel follows the humanistic, liberal and social values laid out in the Public Education Law (1953).

The Taskforce’s strategy is comprised of both reaction and initiative: it reacts to the ongoing attacks on the values of Israeli public education via local taskforces, public campaigns, and legal action. Its initiatives include creating policy programs aimed at fortifying the values of Israeli public education, and promoting them among decision makers and within Israeli society.
